Gosforth Academy in (Schools)

Knightsbridge, Newcastle Upon Tyne, Tyne And Wear, NE3 2JH

0191 2130085

Our main areas of excellence are languages, post 16 education, the gifted and talented curriculum, social inclusion, and the development of teaching and learning. Students transfer from our Junior High and two middle schools at the end of year 8. We work very closely with these schools to ensure a coherent KS3 and smooth transition for students. The three-tier arrangement is very popular with parents and the Local Authority has no plans to rationalise schooling arrangements in the city.

Kenton School in (Schools)

Drayton Road, Newcastle Upon Tyne, Tyne And Wear, NE3 3RU

0191 2142200

Kenton is now a national and local leader in education. We are a successful school with a fine reputation, oversubscribed in every year group. Our 2009 Ofsted inspection graded the school as "outstanding". We have decided to accept the invitation from the Government to convert to academy status. We intend to use the greater freedom to develop this will give, in order to move beyond outstanding to "world class". At Kenton we care very much about the students' results and qualifications, which are good and getting better all the time, but that is only part of the story, for our motto is, "All Different All Equal." This includes many and varied opportunities for each child to develop his or her potential and personality in and out of the classroom. That is why enriching activities in the arts and sports are so important to us.
