Mears today employs almost 13,000 people in every region of the U.K. In partnership with our social housing clients, we maintain, repair and upgrade the homes of hundreds of thousands of people in communities from remote rural villages to large inner-city estates. Our care teams throughout the U.K provide support to around 20,000 people a year and our care service is continually expanding to meet the increasing needs of our elderly population and other vulnerable people living in our communities. We focus on long-term outcomes for people rather than short-term solutions and invest in innovations that make a positive impact on people's quality of life and on their communities social, economical and environmental well-being. The challenges of delivering service improvements at lower costs require innovative thinking and extensive consultation between all stakeholders. That's why Mears has created the Thought Leader concept to create, discuss and roll-out best practice across a broad range of people who have an interest in meeting the challenges of providing more for less. Mears is unique in providing a range of services that help address some of the major challenges our country faces: quality social-housing, building communities, providing care and support for older and disabled people and environmental sustainability. If you would like to get involved in future Thought Leader events please contact pr@mearsgroup.co.uk. If you have examples of innovative thinking or have any topics that you would like to be featured in the Thought Leader bulletin, please contact: Abigail Lock, Head of External Affairs abigail.lock@mearsgroup.co.uk Our vision is the strategic integration of the components which meet society's aim of keeping people living longer healthier and independent lives at home. A single source of support that brings together healthcare, personal care, telecare, aids and adaptations will maximise benefit, reduce time in hospital and make better use of limited resources
