This is an incredibly exciting time at Pimlico. We have recently been judged outstanding by Ofsted and our exam results have increased from 35% 5 A*-C GCSEs with English and maths to 59%. We have a brand new school building that provides an environment which enables staff and students to teach and learn to the highest standards. We are beginning a process of reviewing our curriculum to ensure it provides the academic depth and rigour to ensure our students are given every opportunity to go to the very best universities. The academy has the highest expectations of its staff and students but also provides the very best support.
The school became grant maintained in 1992 and following changes in legislation became a foundation school in 1998. The school was awarded Beacon Status in July 2000 and won the School Achievement Award for Excellence for three consecutive years.
In July 2003 the school became a Leading Edge school. In 2004 our Head, Sir Pritpal Singh, was recognised as the Headteacher of the Year for London. In February 2004, the school was named in the Chief Inspectors Report to Parliament as an outstanding school.
In June 2005, our Head, Sir Pritpal Singh was knighted in the Queens birthday Honours for services to education.
