Here on your doorstep is the award winning Chiltern Open Air Museum, a superb day of discovery for all the family with a wide range of activities all through the season. You can explore life in the Chilterns over the last 2000 years, with over 30 superb rescued and reconstructed traditional Chilterns buildings, including Astleham Manor Cottage an timber framed building dating back to the sixteenth century and reputedly one of King Henry V111 hunting lodges.
Throughout the season, which runs from 2nd April to 28th October 2011, the Museum has fascinating displays and demonstrations with exciting events happening every weekend. One local resident who recently visited the Museum said: 'The Museum is so natural and unspoilt...with breathing, thinking and imagination space'.
The Museum is also a special venue with a difference for local businesses, providing a unique experience for those seeking to hold a meeting, training day, conference, club rally or any group celebration.
Many girls join us in the nursery and stay with us through to gaining A levels at 18, before moving on to university. During their time with us, our aim is to build their academic and personal confidence. We offer them a stimulating and challenging curriculum both academically within the classroom, and socially through a range of extracurricular activities, which ensure that they develop the life skills so essential to success in the modern world.
Whether in our more modern teaching blocks housing the Junior House, Science department and Sixth Form, or in the traditional magnificence of Orche Hill House, the central core of the school, parts of which date back several centuries, you will find a wealth of resources and facilities, academic and technological, to support the girls learning. We want our girls to leave us fully equipped to take their place in the world of tomorrow.
