Cruse is the UKs largest bereavement charity and last year we:
-Responded to nearly 100,000 requests for assistance.
- Helped 32,700 bereaved people face-to-face, including 2,500 children and young people under the age of 18
- Worked with more than 1,700 people bereaved by suicide
Founded in 1959 in Richmond upon Thames, Cruse has areas and branches across England, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Isle of Man. Apart from a core of paid staff, based mainly at central office in Richmond upon Thames, services to bereaved clients are provided by trained and skilled volunteers.
Cruse is a member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists and follows the rigorous code of ethics set out by that organisation. The welfare services that Cruse provides, particularly via its telephone helpline, have also been awarded a Quality Mark by Community Legal Advice.
