Cumbernauld Central Credit Union
Any person over the age of 16 is eligible to join our cooperative institution in Cumbernauld and pay into savings accounts, although preferential rate loans are only granted to members aged 18 years and above. Members save on a regular basis for at least 13 weeks and then become eligible to apply for their first loan. Preferential rate loans are at 1% per month on a reducing balance basis. The Credit Union pays life insurance on the loans at no extra cost to the members. Our savings accounts are available for all and our Junior Savers account - from birth to 16 years - can be enrolled by parents and grand parents. There are benefits to being a member of a cooperative institution which are dividends paid on shares, insurance protection, family funeral plans and of course a central location in Cumbernauld.
