Thorpe House School
Thorpe House has been educating boys in the Gerrards Cross area since 1923. We were a traditional prep School until 2006 and at that point extended the age range to take boys through to their GCSEs. This means that we now provide education for boys from the age of 7 right through to the age of 16 Our aim is clear to provide the best possible education for boys up to the age at which they leave us and to prepare them for the next stage of their education, whatever that might be. Many of our boys leave us at the age of 11 to go to one of the local grammar schools and we do all we can to enable boys for whom that is appropriate to pass their 11+. A few boys move on at 13 to boarding schools and we prepare those boys for entry via Common Entrance. However, most other boys stay with us to take their GCSEs at the age of 16 and in the first two years of the school providing that option, two thirds of all the GCSE grades obtained have been A*, A or B.

Review:
Terrible service, Rude, arrogant and downright incompetent. Rented a house in Chalfont st peter from them, prices kept changing and when I questioned what the actual price was they simply said to me 'well if you cant afford it then maybe you should cut your losses' just a classic example of the lovely way I have been treated. I dreaded handing in my notice which we did through our landlord, I called today 19.04.2012 to just see status of the notice as we are moving out today, mainly regarding deposit. The 'partner' Joanna answered the phone and was instantly speaking to me with an attitude. She told me she 'wasnt psychic' and that she would call me landlord and then put the phone down on me!!! I can assure I was not rude in the slightest... i was still speaking! I only wanted to say to her could she not call today and try tomorrow as they were dealing with a personal situation. I called back to confront her because she was so rude, and she wouldnt even come to the phone. They have been repeatedly rude and arrogant and I cannot believe that people still speak to customers in this way. Seems to be throughout that business though... im still fuming from the whole situation. I cannot wait to ditch these idiots. I am telling everyone I know because people shouldnt deal with them, they cant add up and they cant even manage simple tasks, so dont expect anything from them. If the house is on with another agent use anyone else NOT barrington. They have been taken over by Winkworths so I have emailed Winkworths, wonder if they know what fools they are employing? I hope not!
