Ayrshire Metal Products
The Ayrshire Group can trace its roots back to 1819, when it was a builder of ships on the Ayrshire coast. During the 1930's the company diversified into the cold roll forming of steel sections from coils of material. This modern method of producing lightweight but strong profiles brought new life to the company as it was a much needed replacement for ship building. Two other factories were soon opened, in St. Helens on Merseyside, to supply sections for industrial doors and Metal Trim at Twickenham, Middlesex, for building products. While the division at St. Helens still occupies that original site, the unit at Twickenham was closed and moved to a brand new purpose built site at Daventry, Northamptonshire. In 1988 the newest part of the group was opened in Warley, West Midlands. This unit originally serviced the roller shutter door manufacturers with sections produced by St. Helens. It has grown rapidly to become a leading supplier of a wide range of 'C' sections.
