Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra Ltd

Founded in 1983, the BSO has worked with some of the finest composers, conductors and musicians in the world including Elgar, Sibelius, Holst, Stravinsky and Vaughan Williams. As well as playing core classical concerts in its main venues in Poole, Portsmouth and others such as the Brighton Dome, the BSO plays very popular Outdoor Firework Proms all through the summer. These take place, among other places, at Mercedes-Benz World in Weybridge and at Osborne House on the Isle of Wight. These family events focus on traditional Proms music as well as pop-inspired themes such as the Disco era or the music of Queen. The BSO is then joined by fantastic West-End singers and supported by a rock band. This year's events at Mercedes-Benz World are the Last Night of the Brooklands Proms on 29 July and Symphonic Disco Spectacular on 30 July. Grounds open early for picnics and both concerts finish with a spectacular fireworks finale.
