Situated on the doorstep of the famous Penrhyn Slate Quarry at Bethesda we trade mainly with roofing slate, but also with a variety of other slate products and building materials, both new and reclaimed. We can supply and deliver all specialist roofing materials, including lead sheet and ornamental leadwork which can be made to order by our highly skilled craftsmen.
Bethesda Slate Company was established in 2004 and is owned and run by Jonathan Greenough MIoR. Jonathan has over 20 years experience of working with natural slate, both as a respected roofing contractor and an independent roofing consultant. During his career, he has been responsible for managing roofing projects throughout the UK as well as Australia, Canada and Russia.
They began by taking on the challenging task of transforming and refurbishing some of Caernarfon's biggest eyesores. To date, the Trust has renovated and refurbished over twenty neglected and vacant properties in the town, which are now occupied by tenants.
Galeri Caernarfon Cyf is an independent and private company, which is limited by guarantee. The company is not a part of any local authority or any other organisation.
Since it began, the company has grown from strength to strength and is now responsible for establishing and implementing numerous projects and schemes within the local community. The Trust's busy work programme includes property development, implementing Adwy Cyf schemes (Agency role), setting up and managing SBARC. As an increasing number of the townÂ’s buildings became neglected, run-down and empty, Galeri Caernarfon Cyf (formerly known as Cwmni Tref Caernarfon) was set up as an independent Town Development Trust in 1992 and began by taking on the challenging task
