    St John Ambulance

Our volunteers are well known for the thousands of hours they spend each year ensuring public events are safe. We're also the leading first aid training provider in the UK and the third largest youth organisation. We've been providing first aid cover at major public events since Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee. Last year we trained 325,000 first aiders to cope with first aid emergencies both at work and in the home. We respond to all kinds of emergencies, from major emergencies to car accidents, weather incidents and fires. Our Community First Responder volunteers are trained to attend emergency calls received by the ambulance service and provide care until the ambulance arrives. We provide a range of patient transport services, transferring patients to a wide range of non-emergency medical appointments such as admissions to and discharge from hospitals, clinics, nursing homes and other medical facilities.

    National Institute Of Conductive Education

very year, thousands of children and adults are diagnosed with a motor disorder, such as cerebral palsy and dyspraxia in children and Parkinson’s, multiple sclerosis, stroke and cerebral palsy in adults. Receiving a diagnosis can be a devastating time for all concerned and families and individuals can often feel isolated and not sure of where to turn for information, advice and practical support. During 2010, over 1,000 children and adults will turn to the Foundation for Conductive Education for support through our on-site services, workshops, training and outreach projects. The Foundation for Conductive Education offers a whole of life solution to managing a motor disorder condition. It does not set arbitrary barriers on achievement but rather guides and teaches individuals how to overcome these as one large step towards improving quality of life for them and their family. Conductive Education offers a positive solution and hope for the future.
