Recap's core aims are to encourage the recycling of unwanted household furniture and reduce the level of waste going to landfill, to provide recycled furniture to families on low income at little or no cost and to provide employment and volunteer opportunities to the labour force in the communities we serve. To date RECAP has prevented in excess of 600 tonnes of household furniture and white goods from going to landfill by recycling it. We have collected over 1,000 tonnes of donations from 11,285 households in North Lanarkshire and nearby communities of Moodiesburn, Kilsyth, Croy and Kirkintilloch and we have provided furniture to 6,500 customers. Recap has also provided a range of services for North Lanarkshire Council and the Social Work Department.
