St Charles Catholic Sixth Form College
St Charles is an institution where student attendance and progress is monitored and supported very closely. This takes place in the following ways: Attendance at lessons is recorded electronically, together with any time lost through lack of punctuality. These attendance records can be accessed at any time through the Colleges information systems, and the student can track their own records through their Profile page which they can access in College and remotely from a home computer. Students Group Tutors receive weekly attendance reports and follow up any issues with students in the daily tutorial sessions. Students in receipt of Educational Maintenance Allowances have to reach attendance rates of 95% each week, with minimal lateness in order to qualify for their payments. For all courses students are given a minimum target grade, based on an assessment of their prior achievement.

This company is a failing company to its employees and to its customers. I worked for this company as a "worker" and not a contractor as I was unable to have anyone else do my job for me where not available. This is a ruling by the government regarding the Employment Act. This can be seen at Direct.gov. They dismissed me without reason or pay and wanted to take my van back at my own expense to liverpool. I called to gain reason and to try to see if there was any way I could receive a written warning or final written warning if needed and return to work. I was told you will not get paid until you return the van and I was dismissed due to breaching copyright laws and commited Lible and Slander. I have upheld the compition compliance act and have done any work offering outside of the BT jobs in hand. I asked for this in writing explaining I have rights as a "Worker" not a "Contractor" as stipulated by the government, but was told you have no rights, if we want we can dismiss on a wim without reason and hold your pay. I will hold their van now until I have been paid which I was advised to do by my Legal Advisor. I can enter a tribunal with them but have been told they have ways of evading the outcome. I WOULD ADVISE ANY AND ALL NOT TO APPLY TO THIS COMPANY AND STEER CLEAR OF MJ QUINN. They ask you to work all you can and pay your own fuel. Out of area is measured as the crow flies 35miles radius from your property. The company shows no respect for the people earning them their profits (the Engineers) and are rude and arragant to any person calling with quearies or problems. Katey in the office thinks she is boss and has an attitude to be discusted by. PLEASE STEER CLEAR OF MJ QUINN FOR YOUR OWN SANITY. This includes all contractors, emplyees and workers within the communications sector. We can make a difference with solidarity and give us better working conditions if we stick together. They came to our house within 5 hours and we had the report, with digital photographs, bound, within 24 hours. They are very freindly and their report is concise. We understand that they are independent, so our Inventory will actually stand up in a court of law if needed.

They helped us with our move. He took amazing care of our furniture and wrapped some things on blankes so the move wouldnt hurt. His truck is a little small though, he had to do a couple trips with our stuff.
