Now one of Scotland's most accomplished chefs, Douglas has taken the bold step of opening his own café-bar-brasserie - Saffy's - in the heart of Ayr.
A glance at some of the comments he inspired while head chef at Enterkine House and McCallum's Oyster Bar only serve to confirm his status as one of the country's most exciting culinary talents.

Using fresh local produce wherever possible, Douglas combines delicious Mediterranean and worldwide flavours to offer a unique & varied menu. Crowd pleasers include peppered duck breast confit, slow roasted pork belly, smoked haddock gratin & grilled sea bass.
Open from 9.30am until late, Saffy's offers a delicious range of breakfasts; morning & afternoon coffee & snacks; a comprehensive lunch with express lunch options and a full dinner menu.
Our cuisine ranges from traditional Punjabi dishes, the age old Dum Pukht Mughlai to the very popular "Brit" curries.
With a capacity of 350 diners you'll be spoilt for choice when deciding on which area in the restaurant to dine in! As well as the main dining area there is also a mezzanine area, a bar for snacks and drinks, our palatial private room for up to 8 people or on the terrace in front of the Marina.
We can cater for large parties and corporate events. Outside catering enquiries are also welcome.
