Lanesborough School

The school has been at its present site since 1930 while Braganza, the Pre-Prep department, is situated across the road. In 1978 when the Royal Grammar School became independent, Lanesborough was also purchased by the charity. Lanesborough is the choir school for Guildford Cathedral. The school is easily accessible by car and is close to Guildford's London Road railway station and bus routes. As well as the Royal Grammar School which is less than half a mile away, there are also two excellent schools for girls in the area. Many parents find the convenience of this close proximity helps to simplify family arrangements for travel to school.

Lanesborough Prep School

It has occupied the same site in a quiet, leafy residential area of Guildford since 1930. In 1978 when the Royal Grammar School became independent, Lanesborough was also purchased by the same Governing Body but remains a separate, autonomous academic establishment. The Head is a member of the Incorporated Association of Preparatory Schools; Lanesborough is also the choir school for Guildford Cathedral. The three original late nineteenth century houses which the school occupies have been updated and greatly extended with new buildings to provide extensive facilities for the boys. They still provide a homely atmosphere for classrooms and form an attractive backdrop to the large playing field. The school is easily accessible by car and is close to Guildford's London Road railway station and bus routes. Tormead School

Tormead is an independent day school for girls aged 4 to 18. Founded in 1905, it occupies a pleasant leafy site within easy walking distance of London Road station and the centre of Guildford. The original Victorian buildings have been extended and updated over the years to provide well-designed, modern facilities which benefit from state of the art Information and Communications Technology. Recent additions include two new teaching buildings in the Junior School and, in the Senior School, a new science block, specialist textiles and design technology rooms, a modern languages computer room and a brand new centre for the performing arts. Sports facilities include a modern, well-equipped sports hall and Tormead is one of the few schools in the country to have a sprung gymnasium floor. Pupils also make full use of high quality sports facilities close to the school, such as the four swimming pool complex and athletics stadium at Guildford Spectrum and the Urnfield playing fields.
