You may have heard of Pitman - Sir Isaac Pitman created Pitman shorthand and founded colleges in the 1800s to help people get skills they needed to get good, safe jobs. Pitman Training are still committed to that mission. We have over 100 training centres throughout UK, Ireland and overseas. We still train thousands of students in shorthand and typing and have added many world-class courses to our repetoire. See our main website for the full range. They start from short courses such as Health & Safety or Typing, through full career-changing diplomas up to our Professional range of IT & Management qualifications (including MCSE, BTECs, etc.).
We don't have college-type start and finish dates. Our students choose the times they want to study - whether that's just an hour or two a week, full days or full-time. Some people who work in Preston come in their lunch breaks. People who aren't working often come full-time. Those on government benefits like our courses because they don't prevent them from receiving their benefits as, due to the flexibility of our training methods, they are always available for interviews and/or work.
