Business Information

Berkswell Traditional Farmstead Meats offers the ideal solution to those who are concerned about how their meat is produced and its quality and flavour. Raised on small farm units in high-welfare, non-intensive conditions, and using local abbatoirs, the meat retains all the old fashioned virtues of succulence, tenderness and flavour.
The farm shop has been trading for almost two decades, and the owner Philip Tuckey's family history spans over 400 years involvement in farming and butchery. What better assurance!
For many years, Philip has strongly believed that good animal welfare leads to quality meats and has been retailing his own grass reared beef for over 22 years. This was an innovative action at the time, ahead of the BSE food scare and the supermarkets marketing themselves as concerned in British farming.
We are accredited with the Traditional Breeds Meat Marketing Company (established by the Rare Breeds Survival Trust) which provides us with a source of British Breeds of livestock not commonly available with full traceability and each with distinct eating qualities.
